California DMV Hearings for Minors
Attorney for San Diego Juvenile Drivers License Suspension
If you are a juvenile and have had your driver’s license suspended, you will need to appear at a Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) hearing to get it back. At the San Diego law firm of McGlinn & McGlinn, Attorneys at Law, our attorneys are experienced advocates for young people in a wide range of juvenile law matters, including DMV hearings.
Since Michael D. McGlinn founded the firm in the 1970s, our lawyers have been representing children and teens in criminal matters, and helping their parents get through juvenile dependency matters and issues related to school suspension and expulsion. We build on this experience and knowledge when advocating for teenage drivers in DMV hearings.
Charges That May Lead to License Suspension or Revocation
Our clients include young people whose licenses were suspended because of charges such as:
- Underage drinking
- Drug possession
- Moving violations such as hit and run or speed contests
- Vandalism and other offenses not directly related to driving that have license consequences
- Vehicular manslaughter
We are also very experienced in working out dispositions in juvenile or adult courts that will avoid convictions that could lead to license suspension or revocation. Because of our years working with the juvenile court system, we understand how to help teens whose juvenile criminal charges may have driver’s license consequences.
Time Is Important in DMV Matters
Time deadlines are critical when you are involved in a matter with the DMV. For example, you have only 10 days to request a hearing in a DUI cases. That is why it is important to act quickly if you are arrested or charged with any criminal offense that may involve the DMV. You have very little time to retrieve your license.
